the details get distorted over time. Everyone has their own version.
Being from the outdoors, Pete stuck to hearty and tasty food, definitely homemade.
Returning to "town" to trade hides and get a bath and hot meal every so often, Pete discovered that he couldn’t find the foods he craved.
So, out of necessity he gathered up his recipes, collected from years of travel, and struck out up the St. Louis River in search of a place to serve them.
Some say this is how Trapper Pete’s Steakhouse & Saloon began.
But no one knows for sure.... |
